Darth vaders Blog

So Br4x ran across this today, and I'm not sure what he was doin readin' blogs at work (others than this one that is), but it's pretty flippin' funny. Who would have guessed that Darth Vader had such feelings - I figured he was just a big dumb machine... okay I lied. I never actually even put any thought into it. At all. Ever.

Anyway, it's worth a read.

Check this site while you're at it. I love this stuff. Man, I'm not that big of a Star Wars fan - but I'm about puke I'm laughing so hard...

A 50 caliber blast from the past.

April 27th, 2005 by retsoced

Ahhh... 1998; it was a very good year.

 • California bans smoking in Bars.
 • Ford bought out Volvo.
 • The Galileo space probe discovers a liquid ocean under the ice on Europa.
 • Apple unveiled the iMac.
 • Google Inc. is founded.
 • Novalogic released Delta Force.

Well, for those of us who look back fondly, and really only remember playing Delta Force - it's BACK! Revamped and pimped out, Novalogic has released Delta Force Extreme. With 60 missions and some new graphics - the game will thrill your hunter side and destroy whatever dellusions you have of being able to set up a home network - leaving you both satisfied and pissed.

I'm not sure if I'm going to get the game or not, but it does sound intriguing. I mean, how could I resist the urge to buy something 7 years old in a new wrapper? Didn't I buy this already? Don't I still have it some where? I dunno... but it's kinda funny.

Check it out.

Since I’m talking Star Wars…

April 25th, 2005 by retsoced

Alienware has always been good about having uniquely styled cases and laptops with unsurpassed quality & performance - however, with the new Star Wars Aurora machines - they have hit the jackpot!

I'm telling you right now, that if I can find enough stuff to sell to get one of these I will. This this is a kickin' 'puter with an outstanding paint job. The tough part is to choose which case to get. I have no idea. None. Zippo. Zilch. Nada.... With the Intel pounding AMD 64 engine powering these crunchers, it's sure to power even your most demanding games.

Good job Alienware!!!

Anyone need a 21" monitor? How about a 4x5 camera? Maybe an enlarger? The list goes on.....

Kick Darth Vader’s butt; Lego style!

Star Wars Lego game

This seems to be a pretty cool game. I just bought some Legos the other day, and there was a sell sheet in there for the game, then my bro sends me link to the game site - and Wow! Pretty flippin cool. The 208mb download was a bit to choke down, but I managed. I like the little game site too, pretty nifty - but then again I'm a sucker for Legos, and make something in Flash that has to do with Legos - I'm hooked!

I was just sayin' the other day too, how I was surprised they never made a Death Star...

Lo-and-behold! The Death Star Lego.
3441 peices of pure bliss. Soon to be available - September methinks. Then of course there's the Imperial Star Destroyer, also $300 bucks, and tops out at a cubic foot of peices (3401).

Both of these are on my wish list, but I'm not sure how or when - since parting with $600 for Legos seems a bit far fetched... Although, if you do the math - they are not anymore expensive than buying several smaller packs that add up to the number of peices in these two - it's just the "all at once" that's a bit hard to swallow.

Check out all of the Collectors Series kits here...

Superman Returns

April 22nd, 2005 by retsoced

I just ran into this today as well, I was parusing Digg.com, and if you've never been... go. there's so good stuff there maynard. The WB just released a press release stating that Brandon Routh (whoever the hell he is) will be playing the Man himself in the upcoming flick.

I am keenly interested in following the development of this new movie. I love Superman almost as much as Spiderman. It's a close call - but Spidey wins. Sorry Clark.

Anyway check these guys out too - superman-v - there are a couple of nice desktops and some interesting reading if you are a big dork like me and like comics.

Check back for links to the trailer and movie site - should be going online here soon...

Halo 2 - Gimme an X-Box…NOW!!!

April 22nd, 2005 by retsoced

So. I finally had a chance to play the new Halo 2 for X-Box - and ya' know what? It freakin' rules! It kicks the steaming crap out of Halo, and that's quite a feat. I love Halo. It's awesome. But Halo 2 - I've never wanted a gaming console more than I do right now.

The graphics are stellar, and the game play is outstanding. Packed with details and more interaction than the first iteration could ever even hope to achieve. I've been a fan of Bungie since I first laid eyes on Marathon and played it endlessly on my old Mac PowerPC. Even the interaction is smooth, and expanded to the point of rediculous. Double fisted weapons. In fact any weapon you can use with one hand can be doubled. So 2 plasma rifles or needlers mince the Covenent like a brand new Kitchen Aide blender set to frappe'.

Another reason I like Bungie - they have done what pretty much no else has ever even thought of. They released the source code for the Mac OS version of Marathon. You can actually download the whole trilogy here.

If only they would have for the PC as well.

It's amazing though, this community sprung up around the source of this game and it has gone completely noo-noo. Level editors and the whole shebang. There's even a language developed for creating textures, weapons, U.I.s and a host of other uses, for Marathon (MML - Marathon markup Language). So why doesn't Billy take a hint and release a map editor for Halo then? Why Bill, WHY?! Oh well, it's not like I have so much free time that I would spend it making maps for Halo - but that's what other folks are for - to entertain the rest of us.

So I hear that the new X-Box comes out this year, most likely I won't buy it - but I do hope that Halo 2 hits the PC shelf by Christmas. You hear that Bill? Release it for PC ya' dope!
